Buddha’s Teaching on Right Speech
- Speak truthfully: Avoid lies, exaggeration, and deception.
- Be beneficial: Ensure your words help, not harm, others.
- Be timely: Speak the truth at the right moment.
- Be gentle: Deliver truths with kindness and compassion.
- Practice self-honesty: Be aware of your own motives and reality.
- Use skillful silence: Stay silent if speaking truth would cause unnecessary harm.
- Speak mindfully: Align your words with awareness and ethical responsibility. source
